We had an amazing time with Dr. Michelle Sanders doing Art and Soul together with survivors of human trafficking from our Restore Program.  Art and Soul is a program where people explore their thoughts and emotions through the medium of art and specific teaching. The structure of the seminar was very practical.

Benjamin Nolot sets up for a journey on four continents to discover the reality of modern-day slavery. Nefarious explores how sex trafficking differs from country to country, and suggests that all the victims are both psychologically and emotionally enslaved. 

In Plain Sight is an inspiring documentary focused on six modern-day abolitionists as they fight sex trafficking across America. Journeying to five US cities, the film shows what’s really going on down the street, in front of your eyes.

The last few months have been a whirlwind of activity.  I am so proud of how our growing Abolishion team have pulled together to make it all happen.  It is truly an honour to be surrounded by champions dedicated to eradicating human trafficking from the planet.

We are glad to announce that last week Abolishion, in collaboration with People to People Foundation had the privilege to organize a conference which gathered together professionals from all over Romania.

We're so excited to have Laura join the team at Abolishion.  She will work in the Restoration Care programme. She will also look at business opportunities for the survivors as this is one of their greatest needs.  Welcome Laura! 

Kevin Bales is one of the most important persons that fights against human trafficking today. He played a crucial role in the modern initiatives regarding modern slavery, writing extensively on this subject. Kevin is also the co-founder and previously president of Free the Slaves Organization.

We are beyond excited to tell you that our Restore Home is now open and ready to receive survivors of human trafficking.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank every person who has contributed through giving time, finance and energy to make this happen.  This is truly the result of the work of many people, including the dedicated Abolishion team and the team at People to People who we partner closely with on this project.   

A lot of people think trafficking is what they have seen in a movie like 'Taken' where a girl is kidnapped and forced into sex slavery.  Some of these realities are true but it is much bigger than that.  Others think it is when people are smuggled across country borders but some people are trafficked in their own countries.  Some people think it only happens where poverty exists but this is also known not to be true.

The question I get asked most often is, “What can I do to fight human trafficking?”  The reality is that we can all do something.  Many stop right there thinking that they don’t know enough.  That said, we are all able to learn so don’t let that be a roadblock.  Really the first question to ask is, “How much time do I want to give to it?”  I mean, do you want to give 10 minutes a week or are you wanting to dedicate your entire career to this work.  Are you willing to make adjustments in your life to make room for fighting human trafficking?  Once you know the answer that you can decide how you can contribute.  Here are some things you can do depending on how much time you have to give.
