We're so excited to have Ioana join the team at Abolishion. She will work to enhance our social media and as a result give you much more regular updates and useful information to equip you about how to fight human trafficking. Her administration skills will also assist our CEO in getting even more done. Ioana is fluent in both Romanian and English, opening up more opportunities to work at a a deeper level in Romania. 1. How did you come to hear about human trafficking?
The first time it really hit me I was with my friends watching the film Nefarious together. After seeing that my perspective on life changed forever.
2. What was your reaction when you heard?
I was in shock for a couple of days and then I decided that I need to do something about it. I couldn’t stay silent anymore. So I got involved with Abolishion.
3. What is your role in Abolishion?
I work as an Executive Assistant and in Social Media. I am managing all things Facebook and Twitter as well as working closely with the CEO.
4. Why did you choose to work for Abolishion?
Abolishion is the closest thing to my dream. Through Abolishion I get the chance to touch people’s lives, to make a difference. It’s not a normal job, it’s more like an opportunity to actually change the world we live in.
5. What do you think is the best thing someone can do to fight trafficking?
First of all you have to be aware of it. Yes, it is happening, and yes, it’s happening around you, not thousands of miles away. Secondly, tell your friends about it, raise awareness. You have a voice, use it.
6. What do you think a world without trafficking would look like?
A world without trafficking would be a world where each person's rights are respected.
