We are glad to announce that last week Abolishion, in collaboration with People to People Foundation had the privilege to organize a conference which gathered together professionals from all over Romania.

We're so excited to have Laura join the team at Abolishion.  She will work in the Restoration Care programme. She will also look at business opportunities for the survivors as this is one of their greatest needs.  Welcome Laura! 

We are beyond excited to tell you that our Restore Home is now open and ready to receive survivors of human trafficking.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank every person who has contributed through giving time, finance and energy to make this happen.  This is truly the result of the work of many people, including the dedicated Abolishion team and the team at People to People who we partner closely with on this project.   

Abolishion would like to say a big thank you to GBG PLC and to their staff member Avikal Bajpai.  Avikal nominated Abolishion for the "GBG Gives Back Competition” and was delighted us to tell us that he won.  As a a result, GBG will be donating $500 to Abolishion’s work in fighting human trafficking.

January was a milestone month for all of us here at Abolishion.  It is wonderful to see our dream and years of hard work come to fruition.  

Early last year Leanne took the time to have a Skype call with me to share her story. She recalled being drawn to Europe after a trip that laid heavily on her heart, driving her to pursue a fight against the exploitation of many vulnerable people across Europe. After a number of years living in England and Paris, popular destination countries for the sex-trade, she was referred to Romania by anti-trafficking organisations that confirmed there were many women in the sex trade across Europe that were Romanian. As a high-profile source country, Romania is now where Abolishion is based.

As always, the team have been working hard to achieve some great milestones this month.

Changing the world is easy.  It’s just a lot of work that needs to be done one step at a time.  It will take work, hard work, but not impossible work.  We simply need to choose in our instant, me focused culture that we don’t have time to really make a difference and bring the change that the world desperately needs.  If it really was our priority then we’d do something about it.

Last week Abolishion was invited to present at the 5th Agora International Administration Conference on "The role of the Human Factor in Ensuring Human Security".

Our team spoke as keynote speakers alongside PhD lecturer Aurora Graviș and the head of N-V Regional National Agency against Human Trafficking (ANITP), Gheorghe Ungur.
